Kerry Harvey

Originally from Australia, Kerry Harvey was trained and mentored in the San Francisco Bay Area by master pruner Dennis Makishima, the garden's Chief Consultant.

A Certified Horticulturalist (Merritt College)  and winner of the Merritt College Pruning Award, Kerry has been the principal gardener and aesthetic pruner at the Harland Hand Memorial Garden, where she introduced many drought-tolerant species from her native Australia, and another Harland Hand garden in Berkeley.

Kerry is passionate about enhancing specimen trees and shrubs for aesthetically pleasing results. As the new curator, she will be responsible for overseeing the plant collections and the transition to decreased water consumption through new acquisitions and propagation of xerophytic specimens.

Kerry is a Landscape Designer, Garden Photographer and Website Designer (see www.merrittlandhort.com and www.aestheticpruning.org).
