One
of the most admired and photographed sections of the garden, the Dry
River uses succulents instead of stones to suggest a dry river bed.
The aloes glow in hues of pink and orange and are particularly luminous
at sunset.
Amongst the
succulents are roses. "Graham Thomas," with its apricot perfume,
connects the Dry River visually and aromatically to a patch of Kahili
ginger (Hedychium gardnerianum) in the little
Small Pond Patio.
