At the bottom of the garden, below the ballroom, was a waste area that Marjory Harris turned into a little woods. Complete with a wooden "folly." One can sit on this platform and gaze out at the Golden Gate. On a hot day, the woods provides shade and a breeze.

Full of rare plants as well as many mulberries and brugmansias, home to squirrels and other critters -- one goes to the countryside without the road trip.
